Terms & Conditions
These terms cover a CarDiligence Snapshot, Full Report or Snapshot-to-Full upgrade. Please read them before ordering.

1. The service and report coverage
CarDiligence currently supports UK vehicle adverts only and uses the advert and details you send us to create a report based on vehicle records. It explains what the advert and records from other organisations can tell you before buying. Technology may help explain the information, but it cannot invent vehicle facts or change what the checks found.
Snapshot covers advert and vehicle details, MOT history and mileage, a price estimate and previous adverts where available. It does not include finance, insurance write-off, salvage, stolen, manufacturer service history or recall checks, a maintenance plan, estimated future costs or future value.
Full Report adds finance and recorded-history checks, available manufacturer service records, recalls, maintenance guidance, estimated future costs and buyer guidance. Records and forecasts depend on availability for the vehicle. Both reports highlight missing information; an unavailable check is not an all-clear.
2. What the report is not
The report does not include a physical or mechanical inspection or a warranty. It is not a guaranteed valuation, a guarantee of legal ownership, or legal or financial advice. It does not guarantee the car’s identity, ownership, safety on the road, condition or suitability for you.
You remain responsible for checking the car, its original documents and history, taking a suitable test drive and getting expert advice where needed. Any conditions that must be met before purchase still need to be resolved before you pay or take ownership.
3. Price and payment
A Snapshot is £3.99, a Full Report bought on its own is £19.99, and an eligible paid Snapshot can be upgraded to a Full Report for £16.00. Each payment is recorded separately through Stripe’s secure payment page. You’ll see the total before you pay. We do not receive or store your full card details.
4. Starting now and cancellation
By ticking the box before payment, you ask us to start your report as soon as payment is confirmed. Starting within the 14-day cancellation period may affect your right to cancel and, where the law allows, you may lose that right once the report is supplied. The box is never pre-selected. Nothing in these terms removes a cancellation, refund or other consumer right that the law says must still apply.
5. Information from other organisations
Advert contents and data from vehicle, maintenance, market, finance, salvage, mileage and recall providers may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, unavailable or change after the report. The exact records, comparisons and forecasts included therefore depend on the information available for that vehicle. If a check is unavailable or its answer is unclear, we say it has not been confirmed and do not treat it as an all-clear. Confirm important findings with the seller, relevant authority, finance provider, manufacturer or another appropriate source.
6. Delivery and service failure
We send a private report link to the email supplied. How long it takes depends on when the information we need is available. If no usable report can be generated, the private order page allows one replacement-advert attempt using the existing payment or a full automatic refund to the original payment method. An order that remains unresolved without a completed report for 24 hours is queued for an automatic refund. Once we have supplied a usable report prepared for your car, changing your mind will not normally qualify for a refund where your agreement to start immediately lawfully affects cancellation rights.
If we do not provide the report with reasonable care and skill, or the digital content is faulty, you still have the rights and remedies provided by law.
7. Your responsibilities
- Submit an advert you are entitled to ask us to process and provide accurate contact details.
- Enter the registration accurately when an advert requires registration confirmation or when using manual entry. For manual entry, also remove seller names, contact details and other personal or sensitive information from the description you paste.
- Do not include personal, medical, financial-account or other sensitive information in any optional note sent through a connected app or service.
- Do not misuse the service, attempt to access another customer’s report or interfere with the site.
- Keep the private report link secure.
8. Our responsibility if something goes wrong
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation (deliberately misleading statements), or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are responsible for losses that could reasonably be expected as a result of our failure to meet these terms. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate or unavailable third-party data, changes after the report, or a customer’s failure to carry out the checks and inspection clearly described in the report, except where the law makes us responsible.
9. Complaints
Contact [email protected] with the order reference and a clear description of the problem. We will acknowledge the complaint and aim to provide a full response within 14 days.
10. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live. You may bring proceedings in the courts that have jurisdiction where you live. If you live outside the UK, mandatory local consumer protections may also apply.
Nothing on this page is intended to reduce rights provided by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or other applicable consumer law.
