Snapshot is a first look at an advert. It excludes finance, insurance write-off, salvage, stolen, manufacturer service history and recall checks, maintenance planning, estimated future costs and future value.

Full Report adds finance and recorded-history checks, available service records, recalls, maintenance guidance, estimated costs and a buyer action plan. Coverage varies by vehicle; missing records are highlighted.

Upgrade a paid Snapshot for £16.00 — the same total as buying Full first. Full scope and limitations .

Buying an older car? Know what to ask next.

“Full service history” in the advert? The Full Report compares available service records with the manufacturer maintenance schedule, flags missing proof and gives you questions to take to the seller.

Price & advert checks

The asking price against estimates and nearby cars. Key advert claims checked against vehicle records. What the report checks.

Checked evidence, clearly explained

Real checks.
Clear buying advice.

Both reports start with vehicle records. The Full Report adds plain-English buying guidance and estimated costs.

Use your report alongside original documents, a test drive and an independent physical inspection. Is a history check enough?

The evidence comes first

Snapshot explains the advert, MOT, price and previous-advert checks. In the Full Report, AI helps explain the wider checked records; it doesn’t invent vehicle facts.

Gaps stay visible

If we can’t confirm something, we say so. When records don’t agree, we explain what to ask next.

Forecasts are clearly labelled

Cost estimates help you plan ahead. They are shown separately from confirmed information and don’t change the report’s recommendation about buying the car.

Before you order.

The essentials about your report, payment and next steps.

Which report should I choose?

Snapshot (£3.99) helps you decide whether an advert is worth a closer look, using MOT, mileage, price and previous-advert records. The Full Report (£19.99) adds finance, vehicle history, service records, safety recalls and estimated servicing and repair costs. Snapshot does not include those extra checks. If you start with Snapshot, you can upgrade for £16.00; the total is the same as buying Full first. Missing records are always highlighted.

How long does a report take?

We start once payment is confirmed. You can follow progress on your private page, and we’ll email you when the report is ready.

What if a check is unavailable?

Some records and forecasts depend on information from other organisations. If a source cannot provide a clear result, your report labels that check and tells you what to verify next. The rest of the report continues, and missing information is never treated as an all-clear.

What does the 12-month cost forecast include?

The Full Report forecast gives you an estimated servicing, maintenance and repair budget for 12 months. We show how many miles it assumes you’ll drive. You’ll need to allow separately for fuel, insurance, vehicle tax and any loss in the car’s value. The estimate is not a garage quote or a guarantee, and it does not mean that a particular repair is needed.

How does CarDiligence use AI?

Snapshot uses the checked records directly. In the Full Report, AI helps explain the evidence we’ve checked in clear language. It doesn’t invent vehicle facts, override source results, or treat missing data as clear.

What if the advert cannot be identified?

Payment is taken before your selected report starts. If we cannot identify the vehicle, we stop before later checks. Your private status page lets you use the same payment for one replacement advert or request a full automatic refund.

Does this replace an inspection?

No. We check records and explain what they say, but we don’t examine the car in person. You’ll still need to check the original documents and arrange an independent inspection.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

A failed report can be refunded automatically to the original payment method from its private status page. Unresolved orders that have not produced a report are also refunded after 24 hours. Starting after payment may affect other cancellation rights; read the Terms for details.
